Duvets come in various shapes, sizes and colors. The type of duvet bought depends on the buyer’s style. In choosing the type of duvet to buy, one should also look at the rating, materials and design.

A duvet refers to a form of soft bedding that is used as a type of blanket on a bed. The duvet can be filled with either feathers or duck down or a combination of both. People who would like to experience a warmer night’s sleep prefer using duvets because of their tender and soft nature. Duvets come in various shapes, sizes and colors. The type of duvet bought depends on the buyer’s style. In choosing to buy a duvet, one should also look at the design of the duvet. In addition, shoppers should also consider the material the duvet is made from.

SnugSleep provides the highest quality wool duvets that will keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Apart from the color, there are other considerations to keep in mind when shopping for duvets. The main factor is the type of material used in making them. This is what determines the warmth of the duvet and the rating that it is given. Duvets can also be classified by their tog rating, which is their ability to trap and retain warm air. If the duvet has a high rating it will be considered warmer and vice versa. The type of duvet depends also on the filling used in them. There are many different types of fillings that can be used.

The first type of filling used in duvets is wool. These are preferred mainly during winter because of their ability to trap heat. This insulation feature makes them comfortable to use. Many people like them because they are able to sleep comfortably especially during cold nights. The properties of wool make it an excellent fabric for not only keeping you warm when it’s cold, but also keeping you cool when it’s warm. This quality comes from wool’s ability to trap air and naturally absorb and release moisture.

Another form of duvet that is widely used is the down or feather duvet. This is made from feathers or down of ducks and geese. Most of the duvets are filled with soft down and feathers that make them light and comfortable enough to be used as a covering.

Duvets can also be made of cotton. These are normally used during summer and can be used in place of cotton blankets. Cotton duvets are not tog rated as the other types of duvets; the warmth offered by the duvet is measured by the weight of the cotton fillings.

Duvets made with downs are considered softer and are more expensive than those that are made with feathers. Down duvets tend to last longer than feather duvets. Individuals who are affected by naturally filled duvets have an option of using synthetics ones. Although they do not offer the same quality as those with natural fillings, many people prefer them since they can be easily washed. Synthetic fiber duvets are ideal for people who suffer from allergies. The synthetic duvets can be made from either polyester, spiral light or microfibre light hollowfibre. These are popular because they are easily washed using washing machines and are perfect for all types of weather.

Interest is growing in the use of organic wool for all types of common products due to the health benefits associated with organic wool. Research has shown that the ability of organic wool to keep off moisture eliminates night sweating in babies and also prevents overheating while you sleep, as is common with synthetic materials.

Interest is growing in the use of organic wool for all types of bedding because of its associated health benefits. Research has shown that the ability of organic wool to repel moisture and trap air makes bedding made from this fabic able to eliminate night sweating and regulate body temperature while you sleep. Organic wool bedding is also naturally non-allergenic thus helping resist mould and mildew which can cause allergies, especially in children. Further, studies have shown that sleeping when covered with organic wool helps lower blood pressure and heart rate. This is beneficial for persons who suffer from health conditions, such as rheumatism and arthritis.

SnugSleep provides the highest quality organic wool bedding that will improve your sleep and health.

Organic wool is produced in such a way that it meets stringent international standards. This helps ensure that the wool that is manufactured is not subjected to persistent toxic chemicals which may cause allergic reactions, cancer and other diseases of the skin. These strict standards are what make organic wool one of the healthiest bedding materials available. Whether it is organic wool pillows, an organic wool duvet or bed sheets, the use of this product will ensure that your sleeping environment is free of chemicals and other toxins that may harm your health.

For people who suffer from arthritis, getting a good night sleep may be difficult. This is especially due to the pressure exerted on sensitive areas, for example the hips and shoulders, which if left unmanaged may cause a lot of pain and discomfort. In order to help deal with this, certain mattress manufacturers buffer pressure sensitive areas with organic wool thus enabling one to personalize comfort zones and reduce the pain. This also helps increase the levels of comfort and reduce the levels of tossing and turning. Subsequently, the sleep comfort of anyone using organic wool bedding is enhanced greatly.

Thermal imbalance disrupts sleep and can subsequently cause a rise in heart rate and blood pressure, which can severely disrupt sleeping patterns. When used in bedding such as mattress overlays, duvets and pillows, organic wool helps create a dry and arid environment for sleeping that helps keep away moisture and keeps the body temperature regulated. This in turn helps decrease tossing and turning and provides the user with a more comfortable sleep.

Further, the natural comfort and warmth that is provided by organic wool is not only safe but is also pure and clean. This eliminates the possibility of the wool picking up contaminants that may cause allergies. Organic wool helps insulate and keep the body at a comfortable sleeping temperature. This is because organic wool has fibers that trap dry and warm air near the user’s skin. When the air gets warm, the fibers pull moisture away from the skin thus keeping the user warm, but not overheated. For this same reason, organic wool bedding can also keep a person feeling cool even during the warmer summer months.

Organic wool uses raw materials that are grown without any added chemicals and is manufactured in an environmentally friendly fashion. For these reasons, buying organic wool bedding helps support and improve the health of people, animals, crops, the air and the environment.
